हे पूजनीय प्रभु, जो सभी प्राणियों को बुद्धि प्रदान करते हैं! हे शरणागतों की अभिलाषा पूर्ण करने वाले! हे परम प्रिय! कृपया बताइए — जो भक्त आपके अपने भक्तों के प्रति व्यवहार को जानते हैं, क्या वे आपसे विमुख रह सकते हैं? अलौकिक शक्ति की प्राप्ति के लिए, और ऐसी मनोदशा के लिए जिसमें संसार के समस्त विषय सदा के लिए विस्मृत हो जाएँ — आपके अतिरिक्त कोई अन्य देवता की उपासना कौन करेगा? हम आपके चरण-रज के उपासक हैं। हमें किस वस्तु की कमी है? आप समस्त देहधारी प्राणियों के भीतर उनकी आत्मा के अधिष्ठाता देव के रूप में और बाहर उनके गुरु के रूप में प्रकट होते हैं, और इस प्रकार उनके उन समस्त विकारों को दूर करते हैं जिनसे वे अत्यन्त पीड़ित रहते हैं। इसीलिए जो लोग ब्रह्मा के समान दीर्घायु हों और परब्रह्म का ज्ञान भी रखते हों, वे भी आपके ऋण से उऋण नहीं हो सकते। आपसे प्राप्त अनुग्रह का स्मरण करके वे परम तृप्ति का अनुभव करते हैं। शुकदेव जी ने कहा — इस प्रकार आज्ञाकारी उद्धव के वचन सुनकर देवाधिदेव, वह सर्वशक्तिमान् सत्ता — जिनके लिए यह समस्त ब्रह्माण्ड केवल एक लीला-विलास है, जिन्होंने सत्त्व, रज और तम — इन तीन गुणों से युक्त त्रिमूर्ति के तीन देहधारी रूप धारण किए हैं — उन्होंने अपने अधरों पर प्रेमपूर्ण और मनोहर मुस्कान लिए हुए उद्धव को सम्बोधित किया।
English Summary
2. .Q'worshipful God. who dost impart intelligence unto all!’ O'thou who dost fulfill the desires of thy refugees ! O dearest One! do thou tell me, can persons knowing of thy behaviours towards thy worshippers keep themselves aloof from: thee? Who will serve the other deities than thyself for the attainment of super-human power, as well as for obtaining such a state of the mind, in which they will ever be forgetful of all the worldly objects? Weare the wor- shippers of the dusts of thy feet. What want have we? Thou dost reveal thyself unto all the corporeal beings in their inner soul as the presiding god of it, and outside as their preceptor; and thus thou’ dost remove all their passions, with which they are greatly afflicted. Hence persons,-who enjoy longevity like that of Brahma himself, and who also possess knowledge of the Supreme Spirit, can- ‘not repay the debts they incur from thee. Remembering ‘the benefits they derive’ from thee, ae become highly gratified. (6): “The auspicious’ Sukadeva said:—Having been thus addressed by obedient Uddhava, the’ God of gods, that ‘omnipotent Being, to whom this entire Universe is merely ʻa thing of sport, that One who hast assumed the three ‘embodied forms of the Trinity consisting of the qualities of ‘goodness, energy and darkness, addressed him (Uddhava) with a loving and charming smile on his lips, saying :—
