वैशम्पायन ने कहा — यदि तुम मेरी सहायता करो, तो मैं इस वन को अवश्य भस्म कर दूँगा, क्योंकि यही वह भोजन है जिसकी मुझे अभिलाषा है। तुम श्रेष्ठ अस्त्र-शस्त्रों के ज्ञाता हो, अतः मैं तुमसे प्रार्थना करता हूँ कि जब मैं इस वन को जलाने लगूँ, तब न तो वर्षा होने दो और न किसी प्राणी को यहाँ से भागने दो।

English Summary
