वैशम्पायन बोले — तब महाबाहु जनार्दन ने धृतराष्ट्र, द्रोण, पितामह भीष्म, क्षत्री, वाह्लीक और कृप को सम्बोधित करते हुए कहा — "कुरुओं की सभा में जो कुछ हुआ, वह आप सबने स्वयं देखा है — कैसे दुष्ट दुर्योधन एक अशिक्षित मनुष्य की भाँति क्रोध में भरकर सभा से चला गया, और कैसे महाराज धृतराष्ट्र ने स्वयं को असमर्थ बताया। आप सबकी अनुमति से अब मैं युधिष्ठिर के पास लौटता हूँ।" इतना कहकर उन पुरुषश्रेष्ठ सौरि ने सबको प्रणाम किया और अपने रथ पर आरूढ़ होकर प्रस्थान किया। तब भारतकुल के वे वीर वृषभ, वे महान धनुर्धर — भीष्म, द्रोण और कृप, क्षत्री, अश्वत्थामा, विकर्ण, और महारथी युयुत्सु — सभी उनके पीछे चल पड़े। और केशव अपने उस विशाल श्वेत रथ पर, जिसमें घुँघरुओं की पंक्तियाँ लगी थीं, कुरुओं के सम्मुख से अपनी पितृष्वसा कुन्ती के आवास की ओर चले गये।
English Summary
Vaisampayana continued, — "The mighty-armed Janarddana then addressed Dhritarashtra, Drona, grand sire Bhishma, Kshattri, Valhika, and Kripa and said, — 'Ye have yourselves witnessed all that hath happened in the assembly of the Kurus, viz., how wicked Duryodhana, like an uneducated wretch, left the court from anger, and how king Dhritarashtra also describeth himself to be powerless. With the permission of you all, I shall now go back to Yudhishthira.' — Saluting them, that bull amongst men, Sauri then mounted his car and set out. And those heroic bulls amongst the Bharatas, those mighty bowmen, viz., Bhishma, Drona, and Kripa, and Kshattri, and Aswatthaman and Vikarna, and that mighty car-warrior Yuyutshu, all began to follow him. And Kesava, on his large white car, furnished with rows of tinkling bells, proceeded then, in the very sight of the Kurus, to the abode of his paternal aunt (Kunti)t'\
