वैशम्पायन ने कहा — तत्पश्चात् हम सबने अपने बन्धु-बान्धवों सहित अहुक-पुत्र उग्रसेन का यथोचित सम्मान करते हुए उन्हें भोज-वंश के विस्तारक के रूप में राजसिंहासन पर प्रतिष्ठित किया। समस्त यादवों, अन्धकों और वृष्णियों ने अपने सम्पूर्ण कुल के हित के लिए केवल एक कंस को त्यागकर सुख और समृद्धि प्राप्त की। हे राजन्, जब देवता और असुर युद्ध के लिए सज्ज हुए और शस्त्र प्रहार के लिए उठाए गए, तब समस्त प्राणियों के स्वामी परमेष्ठिन् ने इस प्रसंग पर लागू होने वाले कुछ वचन कहे। हे भारत, जब समस्त लोकों की प्रजा दो पक्षों में विभाजित होकर संहार के कगार पर खड़ी थी, तब उस दिव्य और पवित्र सृष्टि के कारण, सृष्टिकर्ता ने कहा — असुर, दैत्य और दानव पराजित होंगे, और आदित्य, वसु, रुद्र तथा अन्य स्वर्गवासी विजयी होंगे। इस युद्ध में देवता, असुर, मनुष्य, गन्धर्व, नाग और राक्षस — ये सभी क्रोध में आकर एक-दूसरे का संहार करेंगे। ऐसा विचार कर समस्त प्राणियों के स्वामी परमेष्ठिन् ने आदेश दिया।
English Summary
