ब्राह्मण ने कहा — (आगे) कश्यप ने उस ऋषि के विषय में सत्य वृत्तान्त सुनकर उनसे मिलने की इच्छा की। बुद्धिमान कश्यप, जो स्वयं ब्राह्मणों में श्रेष्ठ थे, उस महर्षि के पास गए। तपस्वी होते हुए भी कश्यप पुण्य-लाभ की अभिलाषा से प्रेरित होकर, उन ऋषि के उन सभी अद्भुत गुणों का दर्शन करके, एकाग्र चित्त से उनके चरणों में गिर पड़े। उन असाधारण विभूतियों को देखकर विस्मय से भर गए और शिष्य जिस प्रकार गुरु की सेवा करता है, उसी श्रद्धा और भक्ति से उस ब्राह्मण-श्रेष्ठ की सेवा में लग गए और उन्हें प्रसन्न करने में सफल हुए। हे शत्रु-तापन, अपनी इस भक्ति और गुरु के प्रति शिष्योचित आज्ञापालन से कश्यप ने उस ब्राह्मण को संतुष्ट किया।
English Summary
The Brahmana said, — (continued) Kasyapa having heard of him truly, desired to see him. Possessed of intelligence, that foremost of all Brahmanas, approached the sage. Himself possessed of penances, Kasyapa, moved by the desire of acquiring merit, fell, with a rapt heart, at the feet of the sage when he had seen all those wonderful attributes. Filled with wonder at the sight of those extraordinary accomplishments, Kasyapa began to wait upon that foremost of all Brahmanas, with the dutiful reverence of a disciple waiting upon his preceptor and succeeded in propitiating him.
