सञ्जय ने कहा — (आगे) सुबल-पुत्र शकुनि, शल्य, जयद्रथ, अवन्ति के दोनों राजकुमार विन्द और अनुविन्द, केकय बन्धु, कम्बोजों के स्वामी सुदक्षिण, कलिंगों के स्वामी श्रुतायुध, राजा जयत्सेन, कोसलों के स्वामी बृहद्बल, और सात्वत-वंशी कृतवर्मा — ये दस महापराक्रमी नरश्रेष्ठ, जिनकी भुजाएँ मूसलों के समान थीं और जो दक्षिणा-सहित यज्ञों के अनुष्ठाता थे, प्रत्येक एक-एक अक्षौहिणी सेना के अग्रभाग में खड़े थे। ये और इनके अतिरिक्त अन्य अनेक राजा और राजकुमार भी वहाँ उपस्थित थे।
