सञ्जय ने कहा — तब वह रूपवान अर्जुन, श्वेत अश्वों से जुते हुए अपने उस श्रेष्ठ रथ पर, जिसे स्वयं नारायण चला रहे थे, रणभूमि में प्रकट हुआ। जैसे प्रचण्ड वायु समुद्र को आन्दोलित कर देती है, उसी प्रकार हे राजश्रेष्ठ, विजय ने उस युद्ध में तुम्हारी अश्वारोहियों से भरी विशाल सेना को विचलित कर दिया। जब श्वेताश्व अर्जुन किसी अन्य दिशा में व्यस्त था, तब तुम्हारा पुत्र दुर्योधन क्रोध से भर उठा और अपनी आधी सेना को साथ लेकर अचानक आगे बढ़ा, और प्रतिशोध की इच्छा से प्रेरित होकर आगे आते हुए युधिष्ठिर को उसने चारों ओर से घेर लिया।

Like the tempest agitating the ocean, Vijaya, O foremost of kings, in that battle, agitated that host of thine teeming with horsemen.
