भ्रमर से क्या सीखना चाहिए? एक मुनि को गृहस्थों पर भार डाले बिना, केवल शरीर-निर्वाह के लिए अत्यल्प मात्रा में आहार ग्रहण करना चाहिए। इस प्रकार एक तपस्वी को भ्रमर का मार्ग अपनाना चाहिए। जैसे भ्रमर सभी पुष्पों से मधु संग्रह करता है, वैसे ही एक विवेकशील पुरुष को छोटे-बड़े सभी शास्त्रों से सार-तत्त्व ग्रहण करना चाहिए। भिक्षा में प्राप्त अन्न को न सायंकाल के लिए संचित रखना चाहिए, न अगले दिन के लिए। उसे अपनी अञ्जलि अथवा उदर को ही पात्र बनाना चाहिए।

What is to be leart from a black-bee? A Muni should take articles of food in such a small quantity, without oppressing house-holders to Sustain his body merely. An asectic should as such adopt the course of a black-bee, Like unto a black-bee collecting honey from all flowers, an in- telligent man should glean truths from all scriptures, great or small. The food collected by begging, should not be kept in store either for the evening or for the day follow- ing. He should make either the cavity of palms or belly
