दोनों ही बुद्धिमान हैं, महान् विवेक से सम्पन्न हैं, जितेन्द्रिय हैं, तेरे हित की कामना रखते हैं और महाज्ञानी हैं। उन्होंने जो कहा है, वह तेरे कल्याण के लिए है। हे राजन्, उनके वचन स्वीकार कर। हे महाबुद्धिमान्, कृष्ण और भीष्म दोनों ने जो कहा है, उसी के अनुसार आचरण कर। हे शत्रुदमन, बुद्धि के मोह में पड़कर माधव की उपेक्षा मत कर। जो सदा तुझे उकसाते रहते हैं, वे तुझे विजय नहीं दिला सकते। युद्ध के समय वे शत्रुता का भार दूसरों के कन्धों पर डाल देंगे। पृथ्वी की प्रजा का संहार मत कर। अपने पुत्रों और भाइयों का वध मत कर। यह जान ले कि जिस सेना में वासुदेव और अर्जुन हों, वह सेना अजेय है। हे भारत, यदि तू अपने मित्रों कृष्ण और भीष्म के सत्यवचन स्वीकार नहीं करेगा, तो हे तात, तुझे निश्चय ही पश्चात्ताप करना पड़ेगा। जमदग्नि के पुत्र ने अर्जुन का जो वर्णन किया है, अर्जुन उससे भी महान् है। और देवकीपुत्र कृष्ण का तो देवता भी प्रतिरोध करने में असमर्थ हैं। हे भरतकुलश्रेष्ठ, अब तेरे हित और कल्याण की बात और क्या कही जाए? जो कहना था, वह सब कह दिया गया है। अब जो तेरी इच्छा हो, वही कर। हे भरतकुलशिरोमणि, मैं अब तुझसे और कुछ नहीं कहना चाहता।
English Summary
Both of them are wise, endued with great intelligence, with souls under control, desirous of doing what is for thy good, and possessed of great learning. They have said what is beneficial. Accept their words, O king. O thou, possessed of great wisdom, act according to what both Krishna and Bhishma have said. O chastiser of foes, do not, from delusion of understanding, disregard Madhava. They that are always encouraging thee, are unable to give thee victory. During the time of battle they will throw the burthen of hostility on other's necks. Do not slaughter the Earth's population. Do not slay thy sons and brothers. Know that host is invincible in the midst of which are Vasudeva and Arjuna. If, O Bharata, thou dost not accept the truthful words of thy friends, Krishna and Bhishma, then, O sire, thou wilt surely have to repent, Arjuna is even greater than what Jamadagni's son hath described him to be. As regards Krishna, the son of Devaki, he is incapable of being resisted by even the gods. O bull of Bharata's race, what use is there in telling thee what is really conducive to thy happiness and good ? Every- thing hath now been said unto thee. Do what thou wishest. I do not wish to say anything more unto thee, O foremost of Bharata's race.' '
