रोके जाने पर कर्ण के होंठ क्रोध से काँपने लगे। उसने शिखण्डी को तीन बाणों से उसकी दोनों भौंहों के मध्य में आहत किया। उन तीन बाणों के उसके मस्तक पर गड़े रहने से शिखण्डी उस रजत पर्वत के समान अत्यन्त सुन्दर दिखाई दे रहा था, जिसकी तीन ऊँची चोटियाँ हों। सूतपुत्र द्वारा उस युद्ध में गहरे घायल होने पर भी महान् धनुर्धर शिखण्डी ने कर्ण को नब्बे तीखे बाणों से बेध दिया। तब महारथी कर्ण ने शिखण्डी के अश्वों को मार डाला।
English Summary
Held in check, Kama then, his lips trembling in rage, assailed Sikhandin with three arrows in the midst of his eyebrows. With those three arrows sticking on his fore-head, Sikhandin looked highly beautiful like a silver mountain with three elevated crests.
