हे शत्रुदमन, बाल्यावस्था में ही तुमने अपने तेज से केवल तीन पगों में स्वर्ग, अन्तरिक्ष और पृथ्वी को माप लिया था। हे सर्वात्मन्, उस विराट रूप में स्वर्ग और अन्तरिक्ष को आच्छादित करते हुए तुम सूर्य के शरीर में निवास करने लगे और अपने तेज से उन्हें भी तप्त कर दिया। हे महात्मन्, उन सहस्रों अवतारों में तुमने सैकड़ों पापी असुरों का वध किया। मौरवों और पाशों का संहार करके, निसुन्द और नरक को मारकर, तुमने प्राग्ज्योतिष का मार्ग पुनः सुरक्षित कर दिया। जारुथि में तुमने आह्वृति का वध किया, और क्रथ, शिशुपाल तथा उसके अनुयायियों को, जरासन्ध, शैव्य और शतधन्वा को भी तुमने मार डाला। मेघों के समान गर्जना करने वाले और सूर्य के समान दीप्तिमान अपने रथ पर सवार होकर, तुमने रुक्मी को युद्ध में परास्त करके भोज की कन्या को अपनी रानी के रूप में प्राप्त किया। तुमने क्रोध में इन्द्रद्युम्न और केसरुमान नामक यवन का वध किया। सौभ के अधिपति शाल्व को मारकर तुमने उस सौभ नगरी का भी विनाश कर दिया। ये सब युद्ध में मारे गए — अब अन्यों के विषय में भी सुनो। त्रावती में तुमने कार्तवीर्य के समान पराक्रमी राजा भोज का वध किया, और गोपति तथा तालकेतु भी तुम्हारे हाथों मारे गए। हे जनार्दन, धन-धान्य से परिपूर्ण पवित्र द्वारका नगरी को भी तुमने अपने अधीन किया।
English Summary
And, O thou chastiser of foes, even while a child thou didst, O Krishna, in consequence of thy energy, fill by three steps only the heaven, the firmament, and the earth ! And, O thou soul of all, covering the heaven and the firmament (while thou wert thus transform- ed), thou didst dwell in the body of the Sun and afflict him with thy own splendour ! And, O exalted one, in thy incarnations on those thousand occasions, thou hadst slain, O Krishna, sinful Asuras by hundreds ! By destroying the Mauravas and the Pashas, and slaying Nisunda and Naraka, thou hast again rendered safe the road to Pragjyotisha ! Thou hast slain Ahvriti at Jaruthi, and Kratha and Sisupala with his adherents, and Jarasandha and Saivya and Satadhanwan ! And on thy car roaring like unto clouds and effulgent like the Sun, thou didst obtain for thy queen the daughter of Bhoja, defeating Rukmi in battle ! Thou didst in fury slay Indradyumna and^fche Yavana called Kaseruman ! And slaying Salwa the lord of Saubha, thou didst destroy that city of Saubha itself ! These have all been slain in battle ; listen to me as I speak of others (also slain by thee) ! At Travati thou hast slain king Bhoja equal unto Karttavirya in battle, and both Gopati and Talaketu also have been slain by thee ! And, O Janardana, thou hast also appropriated unto thyself the sacred city of Dwaraka, abounding in wealth and
