हे राजश्रेष्ठ! इस प्रकार वचन कहकर, हृदय में अत्यन्त प्रसन्न होते हुए सुदामा ने उन दोनों को — श्रीकृष्ण और बलराम को — सुन्दर एवं सुगन्धित पुष्पों से बनी मालाएँ भेंट कीं। उन मालाओं से विभूषित होकर, वर देने वालों में श्रेष्ठ बलराम और श्रीकृष्ण अपने अनुयायियों सहित अत्यन्त प्रसन्न हुए और उन्होंने नतमस्तक खड़े, उनकी शरण में आए सुदामा को अनेक वर प्रदान किए। सुदामा ने वर माँगा कि समस्त जगत की आत्मा श्रीकृष्ण में उनकी भक्ति अटल बनी रहे, उनके भक्तों के प्रति मित्रभाव बना रहे, और समस्त प्राणियों के प्रति दया का भाव सदा बना रहे। तब श्रीकृष्ण ने ये सभी वर प्रदान किए और साथ ही उन्हें तथा उनके वंश को निरन्तर बढ़ती हुई समृद्धि का वर भी दिया। पराक्रम, दीर्घायु, यश और सुन्दर रूप का वरदान देकर श्रीकृष्ण और उनके अग्रज बलराम उस स्थान से आगे बढ़ गए।
English Summary
O foremost of the kings! Having spoken in the above manner, and being highly delighted at heart, Sudaman made a present to them (Krishna and Balarama) of garlands, made of finest and most fragrant flowers. Being decorated with these garlands, and highly pleased at heart, Balarama and Krishna, the foremost of the bestowers of boons, with their followers gave various boons to Sudaman who remained bowing unto them, and who sought protection in them. Sudaman asked for the boon of having unshaken reverence in Krishna, the soul of the universe, also the boon of cherish- ing friendship for his (Krishna’ s) devotees and kindness for all being. Then having conferred those boons as also the boon of ever-growing prosperity on him and his race and having „given unto him prowess, a long span of life, fame and beauty of person, Krishna and his elder brother went away from that place.
