यत्तु प्रत्युपकारार्थं फलमुद्दिश्य वा पुनः।दीयते च परिक्लिष्टं तद्दानं राजसं स्मृतम्

Transliteration

yat tu pratyupakārārthaṁ phalam uddiśhya vā punaḥ dīyate cha parikliṣhṭaṁ tad dānaṁ rājasaṁ smṛitam

हिन्दी अनुवाद

जो दान किसी प्रतिफल की आशा से दिया जाए, या फल की अभिलाषा रखकर दिया जाए, अथवा अनिच्छा और क्लेश के साथ दिया जाए — वह दान राजसिक माना गया है।

English Summary

And, that gift which is given with the intention of receiving something in return, or expecting a reward, or begrudgingly, is considered to be Rajasic.
