वह तुम्हें ऋषियों को भी प्रिय लगता है, और युग के अन्त में तुम उसे सागर में विलीन कर देते हो। हे मधुसूदन, तुम दशार्ह वंश के हो — तुममें क्रोध नहीं, ईर्ष्या नहीं, असत्य नहीं, क्रूरता नहीं — फिर तुममें कुटिलता कैसे हो सकती है? हे अविनाशी, सभी देवगण यज्ञभूमि में तुम्हारे तेज के आसन पर विराजमान तुम्हारे पास आकर तुमसे शरण माँगते हैं। हे मधुसूदन, हे शत्रुदमन, युग के अन्त में तुम समस्त वस्तुओं को संकुचित करके इस सम्पूर्ण ब्रह्माण्ड को अपने भीतर समेट लेते हो। हे वृष्णिकुलभूषण, युग के आरम्भ में तुम्हारी कमल-सदृश नाभि से स्वयं ब्रह्मा प्रकट हुए — जो समस्त चर और अचर के स्वामी हैं और जिनका यह सम्पूर्ण ब्रह्माण्ड है। जब भयंकर दानव मधु और कैटभ ब्रह्मा का वध करने पर उद्यत हुए, तब उनके उस अधर्मपूर्ण उद्यम को देखकर तुम क्रुद्ध हुए, और हे हरि, तुम्हारे मस्तक से त्रिशूलधारी शम्भु प्रकट हुए। इस प्रकार ये दोनों देवश्रेष्ठ तुम्हारा कार्य सम्पन्न करने के लिए तुम्हारे ही शरीर से उत्पन्न हुए। यह मुझे स्वयं नारद ने बताया है। हे नारायण, तुमने चैत्ररथ वन में अनेक विधियों से युक्त और प्रचुर दान से सम्पन्न एक महायज्ञ का अनुष्ठान किया था। हे देव, हे कमलनयन, बलदेव के साथ मिलकर अपने बल के आश्रय से तुमने बाल्यकाल में जो कार्य किए, वे न पहले किसी ने किए और न भविष्य में कोई कर सकेगा। तुम ब्राह्मणों के साथ कैलास पर भी निवास करते थे।

Madhu, thou stayest at the end of the ^^contracting all things and withdrawing this universe thy ;own self, thou repressor of all foes ! O thou of the Vrishni race at the beginning of the Tuga, there sprang from thy lotus-like navel, Brahma himself, and lord of all mobile and immobile things, and whose is this entire universe! When the dreadful Danav as Madhu Kaitava were bent on slaying Brahma, beholding their impious endeavour thou- wert angry, and from thy forehead, O Hari, sprang bambhu, the holder of the trident. Thus these two foremost of the deities have sprung from thy body in order to do thy work! Even Narada It was who hath told me this ! O Narayana, thou didst, in the forest of Chaitraratha, celebrate with plentiful gifts a grand sacrifice consisting of a -multitude of rites ! O god, O thou of -eyes like lotus leaves,- the deeds.thou hast;performed while still a boy, having recourse to thy might -and aided by Valadeva, have never been done by others, nor are they capable of being achieved by others in the future ! Thou didst even dwell in Kailasa, accompanied by Brahmanas !' "
