वैशम्पायन ने कहा — (आगे) हे भरतवंश के वृषभ, वह राजाओं में श्रेष्ठ, धर्मात्मा युधिष्ठिर, तुम्हारे शीश झुकाकर अभिवादन करने पर तुम्हें आलिंगन में ले। हे भरतवंश के वृषभ, वह राजा — जो अपने यज्ञों में उदार दक्षिणा के लिए विख्यात है — अपना वह दाहिना भुजा तुम्हारे कंधे पर रखे, जिसकी हथेली पर ध्वज और अंकुश के चिह्न अंकित हैं। जब तुम उनके पास बैठो, तब वे अपने रत्नजटित और रक्तिम हाथों से, सुन्दर अँगुलियों से, तुम्हारी पीठ थपथपाएँ। हे भरतवंश के वृषभ, महाबाहु वृकोदर — जिनके कंधे साल वृक्ष के समान विशाल हैं — तुम्हें आलिंगन करें और शान्ति के लिए मधुर वचन कहें। हे राजन्, अर्जुन और दोनों जुड़वाँ भाइयों द्वारा आदरपूर्वक अभिवादन किए जाने पर तुम उनके मस्तक सूँघो और उनसे स्नेहपूर्ण वार्तालाप करो। और जब ये सभी नरेश तुम्हें अपने वीर पाण्डु-पुत्र भाइयों के साथ एकत्र देखें, तब वे आनन्द के अश्रु बहाएँ। इस हार्दिक मिलन का समाचार सभी राजाओं की नगरियों में घोषित हो। तुम बन्धुत्व के भाव से इस पृथ्वी का शासन करो, और तुम्हारा हृदय ईर्ष्या तथा क्रोध के ताप से मुक्त हो जाए।
English Summary
Vaisampayana said, — (continued) Let that elephant among kings, Yudhish- thira, the just, receive thee with an embrace while thou salutest him bending thy head. O bull of Bharata's race, let that king, distinguished for the liberality of his sacrificial presents, place on thy shoulder that right arm of his, the palm of which beareth the marks of the banner and the hook. Let him, with hands begemmed and red, adorned with fingers, pat thy back while thou art seated. Let the mighty-armed Vrikodara, with shoulder broad as those of the sala tree, embrace thee, O bull of Bharata's race, and gently converse with thee for peace. And, O king, saluted with reverence by those three, viz., Arjuna and the Twins, smell thou their heads and converse with them affectionately. And beholding thee united with thy heroic brothers— the sons of Pandu —let all these mnnarchs-shed tears of joy. Let the tidings of this cordial union be proclaimed in the cities of all the kings. Let the Earth be ruled by thee with feelings of brotherly affection (in thy bosom), and let thy heart be freed from the fever (of jealousy and wrath-)' '
