सञ्जय ने कहा — हे सिरे, सात्वत वीर के उन पराक्रमों को देखकर दुर्योधन और अन्य योद्धा क्रोध से भर उठे और उन्होंने शीघ्र ही सिनि के पौत्र को चारों ओर से घेर लिया। आपके पुत्रों में से कृप और कर्ण भी उस युद्ध में शीघ्र सिनि के पौत्र के पास आकर उन्हें तीखे बाणों से प्रहार करने लगे। तब राजा युधिष्ठिर, माद्री के दोनों पुत्र और महाबली भीमसेन — इन तीनों पाण्डवों ने सात्यकि की रक्षा के लिए उन्हें चारों ओर से घेर लिया। कर्ण, महारथी कृप, दुर्योधन और अन्य योद्धाओं ने सात्यकि पर बाणों की वर्षा करते हुए उन्हें रोकने का प्रयास किया। किन्तु हे राजन्, सिनि के पौत्र ने उन सभी रथियों का सामना करते हुए उस भयंकर बाण-वर्षा को, जो इतनी शीघ्रता से उत्पन्न की गई थी, विफल कर दिया।
English Summary
"Sanjaya said, 'Beholding those feats of the Satwata hero, Duryo- dhana and others, filled with rage, quickly encompassed the grandson of Sini on all sides. Kripa and Kama, of also thy sons, 0 sire, in that battle, quickly approaching the grandson of Sini, began to strike him with keen arrows. Then king Yudhishthira, and the two other Pandavas, viz., the two sons of Madri and Bhimasena of great might surrounded Satyaki (for protecting him). Kama, and the mighty car-warrior Kripa, and Duryo- dhana and others, all resisted Satyaki, pouring showers of arrows on him.
