वे सदा अपने ही बल पर युद्ध करते हैं, किसी अन्य पर आश्रित नहीं रहते। हे स्वामी, इस संसार में वृष्णियों के समान कोई नहीं दिखता। हे भरतकुलश्रेष्ठ, न पहले कोई वृष्णियों के समान पराक्रमी था, न अब है, न आगे होगा। वे अपने बन्धु-बान्धवों का कभी अपमान नहीं करते और जो वयोवृद्ध हैं उनकी आज्ञा का सदा पालन करते हैं। देवता, असुर, गन्धर्व, यक्ष, उरग और राक्षस भी वृष्णि वीरों को नहीं जीत सकते, फिर युद्ध में मनुष्यों की क्या बात करें। जो संकट के समय उनकी सहायता करते हैं, वृष्णि उनकी सम्पत्ति पर कभी लालच नहीं करते। वे ब्राह्मणों के भक्त और सत्यवादी हैं, और धनवान होते हुए भी कभी अभिमान नहीं करते। वृष्णि बलवान को भी दुर्बल मानकर उसे संकट से उबारते हैं। वे सदा देवभक्त, जितेन्द्रिय, दानशील और अहंकाररहित हैं। इसी कारण वृष्णियों का पराक्रम कभी व्यर्थ नहीं होता। कोई मेरु पर्वत को हटा सकता है, कोई समुद्र को तैरकर पार कर सकता है, किन्तु वृष्णियों को पराजित नहीं कर सकता। जिस विषय में तुम्हें सन्देह था, वह सब मैंने तुम्हें बता दिया। परन्तु हे कुरुराज, हे नरश्रेष्ठ, यह जो कुछ हो रहा है, वह सब तुम्हारी ही कुनीति का फल है।
English Summary
They always fight, relying upon their own energy. They are never dependent on others. None, O lord, are seen in this world to be equal to the Vrishni's. None, O bull of Bharata's race, have been, are, or will be equal in might to the Vrishni's. They never show disrespect to their kinsmen. They are always obedient to the commands of those that are reverend in years. The very gods and Asuras and Gandharvas, the Yakslias, the Uragas and the Rakshasas cannot vanquish the Vrishni heroes, what need be said of men, therefore, in battle ? They never covet also the possessions of those that ever render them aid on any occasion of distress. Devoted to the Brahmanas and truthful in speech, they never display any pride although they are wealthy. The Vrishnis regard even the strong as weak and rescue them from distress. Always devoted to the gods, the Vrishnis are self-restrained, charitable, and free from pride. It is for this that the prowess,1 of the Vrishnis is never baffled. A person may remove the mountains of Meru or swim across the ocean but cannot defeat the Vrishnis. I have told thee everything about which thou hadst thy doubts. All this, however, O king of the Kurus, that is happening is due to thy evil policy, O best of men !' "
