सञ्जय ने कहा — इस प्रकार युद्ध के उस भूषण कर्ण द्वारा सम्बोधित किए जाने पर तेरे पुत्र ने, राधापुत्र की पूजा करते हुए, प्रसन्न हृदय से उत्तर दिया — हे कर्ण, जो तुम उचित समझो, वही करो। उत्तम तरकशों और अश्वों से सुसज्जित रथ युद्ध में तुम्हारे पीछे चलेंगे। जितने रथ तुम चाहो, वे सब तुम्हारे दीर्घ बाणों और गृध्रपंखयुक्त शरों को वहन करें। हम स्वयं तथा समस्त राजागण भी, हे कर्ण, युद्ध में तुम्हारा अनुसरण करेंगे। सञ्जय ने आगे कहा — ये वचन कहकर तेरा वह महापराक्रमी राजपुत्र मद्रराज के पास गया और उन्हें इस प्रकार सम्बोधित किया।
English Summary
Sanjaya continued, "Thus addressed by that ornament of battle, viz., Kama, thy son, worshipping the son of Radha, answered him, with a glad heart, saying, 'Accomplish that, O Kama, which thou thinkest, 78 MAHABHABATA Equipt with goodly quivers and steeds, such cars shall follow thee in battle. Let as many cars as thou wishest bear thy long shafts and arrows cquipt with vulturine feathers. Ourselves, as also all the kings, O Kama will, follow thee in battle.' ' Sanjaya continued, "Having said these words, thy royal son, eudued with great prowess, approached the ruler of the Madras and addressed him in the following words."
