शाल्व ने यह भी कहा — "शिशुपाल के वध का प्रतिशोध लेने के लिए मैं आज उस कपटी और नीच मन वाले दुष्ट को यमराज के भवन में भेज दूँगा!" और, हे राजन्, उसने यह भी कहा — "उस जनार्दन को मैं मार डालूँगा, जिस दुराचारी ने मेरे भाई राजा शिशुपाल को — जो कोमल वय का बालक ही था — युद्धभूमि से बाहर, बिना किसी तैयारी के, छल से मार डाला!" हे महाराज, इस प्रकार विलाप करके और हे कुरुवंशी, मुझे इस प्रकार कोसकर, वह अपने उस बहुमूल्य धातुओं से निर्मित, इच्छानुसार कहीं भी जाने में समर्थ विमान पर चढ़कर आकाश में उड़ गया। हे कौरव, जब मैं अपने राज्य लौटा, तब मुझे ज्ञात हुआ कि उस दुर्बुद्धि और दुष्ट मार्तिकावत के राजा ने मेरे विषय में क्या-क्या कहा था। हे कुरुवंशी, उसकी बातें सुनकर मेरे मन में क्रोध की लहर उठी, और हे राजन्, सब कुछ भली-भाँति विचार करने के पश्चात् मैंने उसे मार डालने का दृढ़ संकल्प किया। हे कौरवेय, जब मुझे उसके द्वारा अनर्त प्रजा पर किए गए अत्याचार का, मेरे प्रति उसके अपमानजनक वचनों का, और उसके असीम अहंकार का पूर्ण ज्ञान हुआ, तब मैंने उस दुष्ट के विनाश का निश्चय कर लिया। और, हे पृथ्वीपते, मैं तदनुसार वहाँ से प्रस्थान कर दिया।
English Summary
And Salwa also said, Impelled by wrath for the destruction of Sisupala I shall today send to the mansion of Yama that treacherous miscreant of mean mind !' And, O king, he further said, 'That Janardana shall I slay, who, wretch that he is, hath killed my brother king Sisupala, my brother who was but , a boy of tender years, and who was slain not on the field of battle, unprepared as he was !' Having, O great king, wailed thus, and having, O son of the Kuru race, abused me thus, he rose into the sky on his car of precious metals capable of going anywhere at will ! On returning (to my kingdom) I heard what, O Kaurava, the evil-minded and wicked king of Martika had said regarding myself ! And, O descendant of the Kuru race, I was agitated with wrath, and, O king, having reflected upon everything, I set my heart upon slaying him! And, learning, O Kauravya, of his^oppression of the Anarttas, of his abuse of myself, and of his excessive arrogance, I resolved upon the destruction of that wretch ! And, O lord of earth, I accordingly set out (from my
