तब उस देवता ने उनसे कहा — "ऐसा ही हो" — और वह स्वर्ग को लौट गया। एक सहस्र वर्षों के पश्चात वे तीनों नगर एक में मिल जाएँगे और हम भी एक साथ आ जाएँगे। हे निष्पाप, जो देवताओं में श्रेष्ठ होगा, वह एक ही बाण से उन तीनों एकत्रित नगरों को भेद देगा — हे प्रभु, वही हमारे विनाश का कारण बनेगा। वे असुर उन वरदानों को पाकर अत्यन्त प्रसन्न हुए। तीनों नगरों के निर्माण का निर्णय करके उन्होंने महान असुर मय को इस कार्य के लिए चुना। मय देवताओं के शिल्पी के समान था, जो न थकान जानता था, न जीर्णता — और जिसे समस्त दैत्य तथा दानव पूजते थे। तब महाबुद्धिमान मय ने अपने तपोबल के प्रभाव से तीन नगरों का निर्माण किया — एक स्वर्ण का, दूसरा रजत का, और तीसरा कृष्ण लौह का। स्वर्ण नगर स्वर्ग में स्थापित किया गया, रजत नगर अन्तरिक्ष में, और लौह नगर पृथ्वी पर — सभी इस प्रकार कि।
English Summary
After a thousand years then, we will come together, and our three cities also, O sinless one, will become united into one. That foremost one amongst the gods who will, with one shaft, pierce those three cities united into one, will, O lord, be the cause of our destruction.'
