सञ्जय ने कहा — अर्जुन ने अपने सीधे बाणों से महारथी शल्य को, जो युद्ध में पूरे वेग से संघर्ष कर रहे थे, आच्छादित कर दिया। फिर उन्होंने सुशर्मा और कृपाचार्य को तीन-तीन बाणों से बेधा। उस युद्ध में अतिरथी अर्जुन ने तुम्हारी सेना को पीड़ित करते हुए प्राग्ज्योतिषों के राजा को, सिन्धुराज जयद्रथ को, और चित्रसेन को भी प्रहार किया।
