धृतराष्ट्र ने कहा — जब भीम और पाण्डुपुत्र युधिष्ठिर युद्ध में संलग्न थे, जब मेरी सेना पाण्डवों और श्रृञ्जयों द्वारा संहारी जा रही थी, जब मेरी विशाल सेना बार-बार टूटकर और पराजित होकर निराश हो चली थी — हे सञ्जय, उस समय कौरवों ने क्या किया, यह मुझे बताओ।
