यदि सामर्थ्य हो, तो गुड़, पायस (दूध में पकाया हुआ चावल), घृत, पूआ, जौ, मदिरा, संजव (दूध और घृत के साथ भुने गेहूँ के आटे की विशेष वस्तु), दही और व्यञ्जन — ये सब अर्पित करने चाहिए। एकादशी के दिन प्रतिमा को सुगन्धित तेल से मालिश करें, दर्पण और दन्तकाष्ठ अर्पित करें, पञ्चामृत (दूध, दही, घृत, मधु और शर्करा) से स्नान का अनुष्ठान करें, भोग लगाएँ और संगीत का आयोजन करें। जिसमें सामर्थ्य हो, वह प्रतिदिन इन उपचारों से भगवान् की पूजा करता रहे। अपने वैदिक क्रम के अनुसार वेदी और यज्ञपात्र की स्थापना करके, अपने हाथों से चारों दिशाओं में अग्नि प्रज्वलित करे और फिर उन्हें एक में मिला दे। तत्पश्चात् चारों ओर कुशा बिछाकर, व्याहृति मन्त्रों के उच्चारण के साथ समिधाएँ अर्पित करते हुए अन्वाधान संस्कार विधिपूर्वक सम्पन्न करे। फिर अग्नि के उत्तर में होम की सामग्री रखे, पात्र से जल छिड़के, और अग्नि में मेरे इस स्वरूप का ध्यान करे — "प्रज्वलित स्वर्ण के समान वर्ण, चारों हाथों में शङ्ख, गदा, कौमोदकी और कमल धारण किए हुए, गम्भीर मुद्रा में, कमल के केसर के समान पीताम्बर पहने, देदीप्यमान किरीट, कटिसूत्र और उत्तम अङ्गद से विभूषित, वक्षस्थल पर श्रीवत्स का चिह्न, प्रकाशमान कौस्तुभ मणि और वनमाला धारण किए हुए।"
English Summary
If it lies in his power he should offer molasses, payasa (tice cooked or boiled in milk), clarified butter, cake, barley, wine, Sanjava, (a preparation of fried wheat meal with milk and clarified butter), curd and curry. On the Ekadashi day (the eleventh day of the moon) he should shampoo the idol with perfumed oil, give a mirror, a tooth-pick, perform the ceremony of bathing with panchamrita ( milk curd, clarified butter, honey, sugar) offer food and give a musical party. If it lies in his power, he should: be doing these offerings and worshipping every day. An altar being erected according to one’s respective Vedic order and the sacrificial bowl, he should light out fires on all sides with his hands and then unite them. Then spreading Kusa-grass on all sides, he should duly perform the ceremony of Anvadhana in the shape of throw- ing away twigs with recitation of the Byahriti mantra, Then placing articles of Homa on the north of the fire and sprinkling water from the vessel, he should meditate thus upon my form in the fire :—“Of the hue of burning gold, with conch, mace, club and lotus in his four hands, grave in demeanour, clad in yellow raiment like the filaments of lotus, wearing a lustrous diadem, Katisutra, and an excellent Angada, having the mystic mark of Srivatsa on his breast, the shining Kaustava gem and a garland of wild flowers.”
