जैसे सूर्य अरुण के साथ मिलकर अन्धकार का नाश करता है, वैसे ही तुम कर्ण के साथ मिलकर युद्ध में पार्थ का वध करो। प्रातःकालीन सूर्य के समान तेजस्वी उन दोनों वीरों को — कर्ण और शल्य को — रणभूमि में देखकर शत्रु के महारथी भाग खड़े हों, मानो क्षितिज पर दो सूर्य एक साथ उदित हो गए हों। हे तात, जैसे सूर्य और अरुण को देखते ही अन्धकार नष्ट हो जाता है, वैसे ही तुम्हें और कर्ण को देखकर पाञ्चालों और शृञ्जयों सहित कौन्तेय भी नष्ट हो जाएँ। कर्ण महारथियों में श्रेष्ठ है और तुम सारथियों में अग्रगण्य हो। युद्ध के संग्राम में तुम्हारे समान कोई नहीं है। जैसे वृष्णिकुल के वीर पाण्डुपुत्र की सर्वत्र रक्षा करते हैं, वैसे ही तुम भी युद्ध में विकर्ण के पुत्र कर्ण की रक्षा करो। हे राजन्, तुम्हारे सारथ्य में कर्ण शक्र सहित देवताओं के विरुद्ध भी अजेय हो जाएगा — फिर पाण्डवों की तो बात ही क्या है? मेरे वचनों में सन्देह मत करो।
English Summary
Even as Surya, uniting with Aruna, des- troys the darkness, do thou, uniting with Kama, slay Partha in battle. Let the mighty car-warriors (of the enemy), fly away, beholding in battle those two warriors endued with the effulgence of the morning sun, viz-, Kama and Salya, resembling two Suns risen above the horizon. Even as darkness is destroyed, O sire, at the sight of Surya and Aruna, even so let the Kaunteyas (Pandavas) with the Panchalas and the Srinjayas perish beholding thee and Kama. Kama is the foremost of car-warriors, and thou art the foremost of drivers. In the clash of battle, again there is none equal to thee. As he of Vrishm's race protects the son of Pandu under all circumstances, even so let thyself protect Vikarna's son Kama in battle. With thee as his driver, Kama will become invincible, O king, in battle even with the gods having Sakra at their head ! What then need be said about the Pandavas ? Do not doubt my words, — "
